Nature shots with Fuji 55-200mm

This lens is my favorite FujiFilm X lens when it comes to shooting nature. It can do Macro after attaching a extension tube and close-up lens like the Raynox 250. It can bring in subjects closer and the most amazing thing is that the glass is very sharp. The overall size is relatively small, easily be place in any bag. There are better lenses like the 100-400mm and the popular 50-140mmf2.8. Although being overshadowed by these "better" lenses, this lens still remain a great lens in the line up.

Nice Background blur to bring the subject out.

Pulling in the interesting subject during a landscape shoot.

Landscapes with XT1

The area I wanted to cover for sunset is the Lower Pierce Reservoir in Singapore. This place has been shot by thousands of photographers and the best part is the the sunset. It has one of the best view for sunset in tiny Singapore.

I have shot this area many times too but usually taking the Jetty near the entrance as the main focus point. This time I went into the nature area to explore.

It was a stress day at work and to end my day, I took the XT1 and 12mm + 55-200mm to the reservoir. I was there an hour before the sunset time and had a hike along the boardwalk enjoying the peaceful nature. As I was walking, I also take note of some interesting point so when the time come, I can shoot at those point.

When magic light came, I was prepared and here are some of my shots. The camera is mounted on a tripod and 6stops NDs and 2 stops Grad ND were used. ISO200 on most of my shots.
