Fuji X 18-55mm Landscape

Here is a shot using the not so cheapo "kit" lens. The build quality and lens quality is very good. I will put it in the same class as the Panasonic/Leica (4//3) 14-50mm f2.8-3.5. I used to have the Digilux 3 with 14-50mm and the XE-1 with 18-55mm is a smaller version of it but with bigger and better sensor.

Similar classes of Digital camera. The old Leica Digilux (Panasonic L1) didn't make it as successful as the newer mirrorless Fuji X system.

More samples from the 55-200mm Fuji X lens

Here are more shots from the good quality zoom lens from Fuji X collection. I am impress with the output of the lens that doesn't cost a bomb, The handling is more easy after practicing. The focus is also silent and faster than I expected. It is a lens for journalistic, portraits, events , streets and nature photography (plus macro with Raynox 250).

Fujifilm x 55-200mmf3.5-4.8

Had a test run on this zoom lens. The initial handling requires some use to. As the zoom lens is kind of huge on the Xe-1 and the Fujifilm extra handle bar is not too big, the grip is not as secured as a DSLR. Nevertheless, the light weight of the system is a joy to carry. I uses it with the Raynox 250 for some close-up shots. The focus is on manual and I uses the focus-peaking function to assist my focus.

These are not my favorite shots so far as I need to practice more and maximise the potential of this zoom lens. The initial conclusion is that it is a v sharp lens and bokeh is nice for a zoom lens.

1st May 2014- More updated images from this great lens.

This is how the Raynox 250 close-up lens looks on the 55-200mm X Fuji Lens. The external grip HG-Xe1

is on the camera for better grip.

Low Light shoot with Xe-1

With my low light king D600's demise, I have to choose a new low light performance and lower price system to replace it. My choice came to the Xe-1 with 18-55mm f2.8-4 and the 55-200mm f3.5-4.8.

The 1.5 x sensor is able to hold details and the noise control is great. I have used the m4/3 OM-D em5, I can conclude XE-1 noise control is much better on my eyes. The AF lock is a big improvement as compared to my old X100 (before all the firmware updates). However the m4/3 new flagships like EM-5 autofocus speed is much faster and positive.

I do not have the professional grade f2.8 zooms so iso 6400 is frequently used. Nevertheless, with the quality of the Fujinion lens. The built quality of the 18-55mm and 55-200mm feels very "metal" compared to other lenses I have used.

Here are some shots taken during my Church celebration of Christmas.
