Sunset at Changi boardwalk

This is one of the many attempts to the same area. This time, the tide was super low and I wanted a different shot. I did a low-level shot and station myself under the boardwalk. Using the Gorillapod Focus as my tripod, I do this shot. By XT1 and zeiss 12mm at F16.

Before the above shot was taken, I had a 30min walk about with my favourite 27mmf2.8. This lens mounted on to the XT1 gave me the same feeling as using a X100.

Here are some of the walk-about  unplanned shots.
27mm- Man and boat

Low-level shot of 27mm- Love the depth it gave.

Paranomic shot using 27mm

Fuji 27mm f2,8 doing landscape

Shot by XT-1 with the XF27mm. The camera was mounted on a standing pole as I didn't bring a tripod for the walkabout. Setting f9, 4 seconds. Velvia film simulation.

This is the smallest lens in the X series. Equivalent to a 41mm view on a "full frame" term which is same as our eyes view of angle. This lens sharpness is superb too. This setup is portable and has a same feel as the X100.
A simple switch to a pancake lens like this 27nnm, the whole setup become so portable and fun. Yet the image quality is great too.

Melaka 2016

The last time I was there was last year June. That time, I was carrying X100 classic and Fuji Xe2 with 12mm & 55-200mm. Last year's trip, I was staying very near to the old town. This year, my family chose to stay near the shopping belt area. Nevertheless, we still find time to visit the old Jonker walk area where it is the best place to do some photography.

This time, I was carrying a XT1, 35mm f1.4 and 12mm Zeiss. Keeping things simpler and 90% of the time, I was using the 35mm which is equivalent to a 50mm on a "fullframe" sensor. I come to love this focal length although I am used to a X100 or a 23mmf2 equivalent to a 35mm. The Fuji 35mmf1.4 can give a "3D" or better subject separation. But as the view is tighter, I need to think more on the composition etc.

The Fuji 35mm is great for everyday use in my opinion. It's a low light lens too, it can shoot in the dark alleys with good results too.

The film simulation used is Classic Chrome.
