Pulau Ubin over Easter Weekend

Packed with snacks, soft drinks and food, we headed to Changi Village in the early morning of Easter Friday. It is a public holiday and we expect the island to be crowded with lots of visitors. Therefore we reach there early at 830am.

In my camera bag, I load it with the Fuji X100 and Fuji XE2 with 55-200mm.

The bum boat ride to the Ubin Island, is the start of getting the nostalgic feeling that you are back to the older days of Singapore.

Once reaching the Ubin Jetty, the feeling of old Singapore becomes real. As a family, we hike for 30mins and reached a side of a river bank and started our picnic. After picnic, we had a hiking session along the nature route of the island.

The weather was great with no strong sunlight.

As we are exploring the island, there are lots of photo opportunities too. We can witness the old zinc roofed houses that was once a common sight in Singapore. We can see Horn bill birds and other nature stuff as we walk along the route.

A old Granite quarry now filled with water. I used to jump into such quarry for swim during my teens. But it is consider too dangerous now.

The faces of the Pulau Ubin are important part of the identity of this nostalgic place. I wonder what would it be in 10-20 years time when they are retired etc.
This is a living museum in Singapore:-)

The Trip ends with a Ice dessert at Changi Point
