As from the previous film SLR setup, I have the Olympus OM-1 SLR and 2 OM lenses namely the 50mmf1.8 and the 28mmf2.8. I also got a $15 OM-Fuji lens adapter so I can mount the old manual lens to the Xpro-1 and now the XT1.
XT-1, dual EVF mode while using manual focus is a great assist for focusing manual lens in this case. I can concentrate on the compositon with the bigger screen and at the same time confirm focus on the smaller screen. In the past while using Xpro1 or similar mirrorless system like the Olympus/Panasanic M4/3, I need to use the magnification mode to confirm focus which I find cumbersome as there is an additional step and strain to my eye.
I use the 50mmf1.8 OM lens with the Fuji XT1 and had a shoot at the recent garden festival in Singapore. I have happy with the result and handling.

Penang 2 w Fuji XT1
I happened to visit Penang once more within a month. This time I stayed in George Town and was attending my company mid-year retreat & meeting.
The last trip which was 2 weeks ago is seen here

Staying in George Town means I am very close to the Heritage sites and all within walking distance or using the GRAB car services.
Carrying the upgraded XT1 with 35mm and 12mm, I was shooting during the free time. The film simulation used this time were Astia & Classic Chrome. The carrying bag is the Lowerpo Passport sling 3 which is my favorite carry bag for such trips. Wallet, Handphone, Ipad, light weight jacket and camera kits can be place inside the main compartment comfortably. The sling is place on a forward position when I am walking to prevent pick-pockets etc. Carry the bag whole day, I do not feel the soreness on shoulder,
The XT1 compared to the older XPro1 is really a leap in technology. Although Xpro-1's image quality is the same as XT1, the handling, the focus speed and grip is a great improvement for the XT1.
The Fuji XT1 was first launched in 2014, the upcoming new XT2 will be in store in Sept2016. I will be attending the new XT2 launch event in Singapore in the early August.
This time, I have found a really nice street food at the heart of George Town. I do not recommend Gurney Drive street food as the quality of the food and taste is really not good. This fry rice noodle place which I find really good is located at Jalan Selamat.

Sungei Road's "Thieves Market"
A trade that is slowly overtaken by the Urban development.
This area is a place for vendors to sell their used items since the 1930s. With the rapid development of our country infrastructure, the space area of the market has shrink a lot since the past few years, The future of this flea market is still unknown. Therefore it is still a good opportunity for tourists or locals to enjoy this area before it is gone for good,
I brought the Fujifilm XT1 and 35mm f1,4 for a shoot. This time, I experiment using the wireless remote function to control my shoot from my Iphone. The result was good. I am able to sling my Xt1 on my side and as I am looking at my Iphone, I am actually viewing thru the XT1. This tactic is effective as the street stall owner didn't even notice me at all. I can get close to them and shoot freely, capturing their daily routine without alerting them.
All are shot with XT1 w 35mmf1,4, with Classic chrome film simulation.
